MANIC STREET PREACHERS PUBLICA EL 1 DE NOVIEMBRE NATIONAL TREASURES, UN ÁLBUM QUE RECORRE SUS 21 AÑOS DE HISTORIA EN 38 CANCIONES (UNA INÉDITA)

El 1 de noviembre de 2011, Manic Street Preachers publica National Treasures, un álbum que recorre sus 21 años de historia a través de 38 canciones. El disco abre con el primer single de la banda publicado en 1990 (Motown Junk) se cierra con la única canción inédita del álbum (This Is The Day), como un viaje cronológico por la música de uno de los grupos más emblemáticos del rock británico de las últimas décadas. Es un recorrido por la carrera de Manic Street Preachers, que en 2010 lanzó su décimo álbum de estudio Postcards From A Young Man. Sucedía a Journal For Plague Lovers, publicado en 2009 con letras Richard Edwards, antiguo guitarrista del grupo que desapareció misteriosamente el 1 de febrero de 1995 y fue dado por presuntamente fallecido en noviembre de 2008. Era la continuación de una larga carrera discográfica que comenzó en 1992 con Generation Terrorists. Después llegaron discos de éxito cómo Gold Against the Soul (1993), The Holy Bible (1994), Everything Must Go (1996), This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours (1998), Know Your Enemy (2001), Lifeblood (2004) y Send Away The Tigers (2007). A lo largo de estos años, Manic Street Preachers ha sido una de las bandas mimadas por los medios de comunicación del Reino Unido, con alguno de sus álbumes reconocidos como “el mejor del año” por The Daily Telegraph, Melody Maker, NME, The Sunday Times, Q, Music Week, Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, The Independent o The Guardian, además de haber conseguido premios Brit en 1996 y 1999 y ser introducida en el NME Hall Of Fame en 2008 en la categoría de Godlike Genius.
